Kathmandu: President Vidhya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to visit Bangladesh. She is scheduled to pay a two-day visit to Bangladesh in the last week of March.
According to a source, President Bhandari is scheduled to leave for Bangladesh on March 22. President Bhandari has been invited from Bangladesh to attend a program to mark the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the centenary of the founding of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
President Bhandari was scheduled to visit Bangladesh last year but the visit was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid had paid a four-day visit to Nepal on 12 November 2019.
After that, at the ‘head of state’ invitation of Bangladesh, it is planned to visit Bangladesh from Nepal as well. However, the visit, which was halted due to the pandemic, is now scheduled to take place in the last week of March.
The Bangladesh government has planned a 10-day program to celebrate Rahman’s centenary and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence from March 17 to 26.
